News and offers for February

Hello everybody

Hope January wasn't too cold and dreary for you all. I am writing this on a lovely sunny February day so let's hope that the weather holds of the rest of winter.

I have a few bits of news for you and a couple of offers so make sure you read all of this blog.

ACCENT CELLULITE REMOVAL/FAT REMOVAL SYSTEM - Try before you buy offer

The first 10 people that ring/e-mail me will have the opportunity to try the Accent system for just a booking fee of £10. This "try before you buy" day will be held on Thursday 13th March. So if you have thought about having the treatment but were worried about what it entailed, then this will be a chance for you to try it.

Christina Beaumont has now joined the Cindy Knight Clinic and will be available every Wednesday for microdermabrasion appointments as well as facial hair removal by threading. . This includes eyebrows, of course. Christina is a qualified Aromatherapist.

If you book a course of microdermabrasions with Christina, they will only cost £30 per treatment at present. Microdermabrasions with Cindy are £85, so this is an great offer. Not only that, Christina can combine the treatment with an eyebrow threading treatment for an extra £5.

Eyebrow threading on its own will cost £10. Full face threading, which gets rid of all facial hair, including the downy hair, costs £20.

WHICH? MAGAZINE'S RECENT STUDY OF AESTHETIC CLINICS

“Which?” Magazine is calling for:

Any provider of invasive cosmetic treatments required to register with the
Healthcare Commission (soon to become Care Quality Commission). -Cindy Knight Cinic is fully registered.

Any cosmetic treatments must be provided under the direct supervision of
registered healthcare professionals who have appropriate training, skills and
competence in the procedure. - Cindy Knight Clinic complies with this.

The regulatory bodies for all healthcare professions, not only doctors, dentists and nurses but also where any registrants have independent prescribing rights, must provide clear and regular guidance to all registrants about providing cosmetic treatments of:

  • Their obligations under the regulatory codes to put patients’ interests and their safety first.
Their personal accountability for the standards of any treatment delegated to others, particularly unqualified staff.
  • The need to secure properly informed consent prior to any treatment.
  • Failure to abide by the guidance and any codes may affect their registration.

The IHAS must adopt a more robust approach to monitoring and enforcing breaches of its good practice code, including naming and shaming of any companies that breach the code, especially repeat offenders.

If you don't come to the Cindy Knight Clinic, please ensure that the Clinic you go to is regulated by the Healthcare Commission. An estimated three out of four providers of cosmetic laser procedures (some 3000 clinics) are operating illegally by not being registered with the Healthcare Commission.

THERADERM ONLINE ORDERING

The Cindy Knight Clinic has been chosen as one of only 5 clinics in the country to provide Theraderm products online. As soon as it is up and running I will let you know.

I think that is it for now!!

New year new you - blah blah...

Hi everyone

First of all Happy New Year to you all. I hope it brings you everything you would want.

Second of all Cindy is having a Dermal Filler special day on FRIDAY 25 JANUARY. Places are booking up fast so ring me on 01732 832004 for an appointment. Cindy will be doing the treatments and each syringe is £240 instead of £260-£340.

Other news - well I have a couple of photos of Sharon since she had her cheeks done, and these were also in the Kent County Magazine this month.

The first photo was when she first came into the clinic. The second photo was after various treatments including botox, fillers, Theraderm skin system, and some microdermabrasion and was 4 weeks later.
As you can see there is some real difference in Sharon's skin tone as well as the position of her cheeks, which brings a lift to the whole of the side of her face.

If you real the Daily Mail on a Sunday you will also get the YOU magazine. Wendy Lewis the resident expert on all things in the aesthetic medicine field has given high praise to the Skinceuticals C&E Ferulic Acid Serum. Here is the transcript of what she thinks with regard to skincare creams in general as well as stating that C&C Ferulic is a "GOTTA HAVE IT" product. We sell it at the clinic so if you want some please ring me and I will do the transaction over the phone and send it to you tout suite. That goes for all the creams that we sell at the clinic.

Wendy Lewis - "Good-quality skincare products go a long way."

Can you really hold back time without resorting to Botox or the surgeon's knife?

In an extract from her new book, our cosmetic surgery expert Wendy Lewis reveals the skincare creams that will keep you looking young...
" Do creams really work?

I get asked this question at least ten times a day. Creams absolutely work, but in a limited capacity. The main reason women are dissatisfied with their skincare is that their expectations are off the charts to begin with.
You mustn't be dazzled by claims that sound miraculous – there is no face-lift in a jar, or filler in a bottle, or Botox in a tube.
Many companies make great products, but they won't do much if your skin is in need of something more aggressive.
Skincare is the place to start, in order to lay a foundation for your beauty future, but eventually over-the-counter products won't be enough. That's when it's time to move from cream to needle.

When to splurge and when to save

You don't have to take out a second mortgage to have great skin. But don't cut corners on all your skincare formulas. Buying cheaper products can sometimes mean sacrificing the ingredients that your skin craves. Lesser-quality products sometimes contain more water, so you need more to get the job done, and there go your savings.

Good-quality skincare products are very concentrated, so using a small amount (about the size of a pea) is often enough and can make them last longer. If you figure out the cost of using one ounce of an eye cream that costs £50 over three months, it comes to about 50p per day.

Splurge on a few great products that you can't live without in the anti-ageing and treatment categories – for example, your favourite eye cream.

Spend more of your budget on your face than on your body. Fill in with less expensive cleansers, body scrubs and lotions, and hand creams.

Watch expiry dates. The newer the product, the fresher the ingredients and the more effective it will be. Buy small sizes so that the shelf life does not expire before you get to the bottom of the jar.

If the product causes you to react or break out, ask for a refund or exchange it. The return policy may be quite liberal in big stores (30 to 60 days), which gives you a chance to see results, or not. (the Cindy Knight Clinic gives 30 days guarantee).

You don't have to spend a fortune on a good cleanser to get your skin clean and remove make-up. Look for multitasking products. Facial wipes, for example (No 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes, £6.50, and Olay Daily Facials Express Wipes, £4.49, both available nationwide), do it all – cleanse, tone, remove face and eye make-up, and refresh.

How can I tell if my skincare is working?

Use it as directed for at least six full weeks consistently to judge fairly. Get a second opinion; ask your partner or a girlfriend who will tell you the truth if they see an improvement. If you are not getting remarks like 'Your skin looks amazing!' it may not be getting the job done."

I'm back - did you miss me??

Hello to all my cyber clientele.

I am back from my Florida trip and all those who are interested in seeing 100 pictures of various sunsets and alcoholic drinks, go and look on my facebook profile. I will have hard copies in the clinic too if you want to be distracted from the needles..... Mind you, everone knows that Cindy is a whizz with the needle, causing minimum amount of pain.

The staff situation has changed, as Sarah is no longer a consultant nurse at the clinic. We wish her well.

Christmas is just around the corner and I thought I would let you know the Clinic's Christmas opening times.
Cindy is working until 21st December and will be back on 3rd January.
Leah (IPL Laser/Accent - Tuesdays and Wednesdays) is working until 19th December and will be back on 9th January.
Fiona (Accent - Thursdays and some Saturdays) will be in until the 13th December and will be back on 10th January.
Usha's last day will be 17th December and she will be back on 7th January. Massages make very good Christmas presents you know!

I will be manning the phones as usual so you can still book appointments and/or purchase creams and Gift Vouchers.

For all you clients who like us to be "Secret Squirrel" with regard to any of the treatments, I have liaised with our Card terminal agents and The Cindy Knight Clinic will be shown as CKC Ltd on your credit card bills in the very near future...

Remember there will be a dermal filler special price day sometime in January so keep watching the newsletter for the exact date!

Dermal fillers Special reminder and other news

Hi everyone

Just reminding you all of the Dermal Filler special weekend on Friday and Saturday 2 and 3 November. £240 per syringe (apart from Sculptra). There are still a couple of places available with Sarah. Cindy will also be there to assist with any questions etc.

You will also be glad to know that Cindy will be opening a small consulting room in Cooden, Bexhill East Sussex in the new year as an extension to the business. Good news for our South East coast clients!!

Accent is doing well - my belly is much smoother and softer since my six treatments with Fiona - modesty prevents me from showing my belly on the World Wide Web but I can tell you that I am very happy with the results.

Remember that we have our resident qualified masseuse every Monday. Ring me as usual for an appointment.

Can I ask all long term clients to check their mobiles regarding our Clinic number. The 363155 number will be no more very very soon. So please change your settings to the 01732 832004 number

If you buy coffee table magazines, go out and look for At Home with Nicky Hambleton-Jones which is a fantastic read for all your aesthetic needs and features our Clinic.

Remember that I am off on Annual Leave from 5th - 25 November so when booking an appointment you will be speaking to Leah or Nigel who will be able to assist.

Have a happy halloween but make sure that you are looking lovely!!

More piccies of Sharon

Hi - see my post below for more details but I just had to add some more photos of Sharon now that she has had some Dermal Filler treatment to her face. She has had some Teosyal Deep Lines injected into the nose to mouth lines (naso-labial). Here are a few pictures to show pre, during and post-treatment.
1st photo is before the filler treatment.
The second photo is during treatment - Sharon has had the right side done. Although the procedure did sting, Sharon was so pleased with the results that she became quite emotional.

The third Photo shows the end result.

News, news and more news including special Dermal Filler day!!

First off let's give you the latest on our 10 Years Younger lady, Sharon. Having had her first Botox treatment she came back for the assessment. Cindy added a couple of injections to the forehead where there was still excess movement. Cindy did not want Sharon to lose the natural movements in her face. Both Sharon and Cindy were pleased with the result.

Sharon also had a microdermabrasion treatment which took all the dead skin cells off her face and left her with lovely pink skin as opposed to the grey skin that Sharon was sporting earlier in the month. Sharon is keeping a diary which I will publish at a later date. Here are the "2 week on" photos, and let me tell you that I am not the most observant girl in the world, but I noticed such a big difference in Sharon's face.

The second piece of news is that we have a new nurse joining us on 2 November, and we will be celebrating this by having a special Dermal Filler Weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of November. - Update - Cindy is not taking on a new nurse at this time due to changes in circumstances.

The third piece of news is that, as can be seen in my previous post, we have the services of a qualified masseuse on a Monday. One hour £40, half an hour £30. Please ring me at the clinic for an appointment for any of our services.

Now that the Accent machine is up and running we have seen some very happy clients! I myself have lost about 5cm from my belly and I am also having my bingo wings done and after two treatments I have lost 2cm from one arm and 1.5cm from the other. Accent appointments are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays (by mutual agreement with the therapist).

That is it for this week. Please note that I am on Annual Leave from 5th November until 23 November so please be gentle with my surrogate Practice Managers Leah (from 6th to 13th November) and Nigel (from 14th to 23rd November).
